Some avid users provided negative feedback just as some found these modifications rather useful. However, we must remember that change is really inevitable.

Aside from the recent changes in the Facebook interface, Mark Zuckerberg surprised us again with another cool but rather complicated addition to the site: Facebook Timeline. If you are still using the normal viewing mode of the website, then you might get interested in testing the new Timeline interface. Although it’s more complicated to navigate, I’m pretty sure that you’ll love how it showcases your Facebook life that it almost feels like you’re thumbing through your own scrapbook.

So what’s different in Facebook Timeline?

The first thing you’ll notice when you’re using Timeline is the large photo space at the top part of your Profile page. You can place any picture that best represents you or anything that you like. Your profile picture shows up on the left side with a few of your most important pieces of information like your occupation, the school you attended, your place of residence and your relationship status. Just under that is a link that says “About” which is actually the counterpart of the old “Info” tab. The only thing new is that it displays a box of your “History by Year”, displaying some of the significant events in your life. You should also see a box for your “Relationships & Family”.

Now if you return to your profile again, you should see several buttons or picture boxes just across your personal information. You just need to click each of these to view your friends, photos, pages, things you “liked” and also places you checked in to.

Moving on to the Status box, what’s noticeable is that aside from the Status, Photo and Place options, there are also little icons there. They aren’t there just to let you easily add a job or change your relationship status but these are also cute additions to your Facebook activities. You can now click these icons to let your friends know that you moved in to another house, that you’ve decided to become a vegetarian or even when you’ve managed to get a tattoo. There’s even a button for your milestones in life that you can click on, letting you go back to the day when you got your license, received an award or even when you first learned to speak. It’s almost like a slum book. LOL

Another attractive feature of Timeline is its very layout.

Posts & activities that you have made are displayed in individual bubbles or boxes & pictures are relatively larger in size, creating more visibility. You can even click on the little star icon to feature anything that you like, enlarging them on your profile for all your friends to easily notice.

Now the very essence of Timeline is that is has arranged all your activities chronologically for easy navigation. There is a timeline bar at the right hand side of the profile page, displaying different months and years. So when you want to go back and reminisce on what you have posted on a specific month or year, you just have to click on the date in the timeline bar and Facebook will take you there.

Timeline does not only display site activities but also significant events like the time when you started or stopped working for a certain company, the birthdays of your loved ones or family members and even the time when you joined Facebook. You can also set specific photos for these events for better illustration.

So what do you think? Are these features enticing enough to try it out?

It may be hard to navigate the site at first try but you’ll eventually get used to it. It’ll just be like using Facebook or any other site for the first time. So if you want to experience the fun in Facebook Timeline, go ahead and try testing the application. You’ll not only enjoy the trip down your own memory lane but also that of your friends and loved ones.

Twitter Brand Pages – Are they the new competition of Facebook and Google +?

Just like Facebook, Twitter is introducing innovative changes to its users. With a new look presented in the last few days, twitter is also giving its users the opportunity to have brand pages. This is huge for anyone in business. Branding is important. It defines your company and lets your customers know exactly who you are. Branding can identify a company without any verbal communication needed.

1. If you don’t have a website, this twitter brand page can temporarily serve as your website. Since you’re allowed to have tabs at the top, the page visually functions just as a website.

2. Also, this new feature on twitter will help you stand out from your peers. Branding is all about your target audience being able to readily know who you are, beyond the shadow of a doubt.

3. The new brand page for twitter helps to organize your tweets according to the trending topics. How great is that! Personally, I think this will help increase your SEO.

4. Custom ad space is available, which helps to convert followers into loyal customers.

5. Your tweets and topics can be easily shared via Google+, Twitter, and Facebook.

I often find myself running around like a chicken with my head chopped off trying to keep ahead of my own LONG lists of to do tasks.

I stay up late at night, loose sleep, and get really grouchy…then my business begins to suffer.

So to Help My Readers and Myself finish out the Year 2011 strong, I consulted with one of America's Favorite Health Experts, Trisha Dixon. As a successful business owner, mother of three, and one of the healthiest people I know – I knew I would get the REAL truth from her.

If your bold enough to cross the threshold, take your business to an exciting new level by improving your own health… then take the plunge and read Trisha's insightful tips below!

As a Health Expert who owns her own business, how do you find the time to eat healthy and exercise and still run a successful home based business?

I’m finding that being healthy is crucial to running a successful business; I don’t have time not to be healthy! Every single day we each have choices to make—what to eat, how to spend our time and energy, how to unwind. Choosing the healthy option when those decisions present themselves gives me the energy, mental clarity, and positive attitude I need to keep me at the top of my game. There is a distinct difference between the frequency emitted by a healthy, vibrant being and that of a fatigued, sickly person. In business we attract the types of people and opportunities into our lives that correlate to the vibrations we are emitting.

Creating a life of health is a conscious choice and will require conscious effort. When I invest a small amount of time upfront to plan, I’ve discovered that eating foods closer to their original, natural state is not only healthier, but also much more quick and simple. Biting into an apple is fast food. Savoring a handful of raw cashews is so easy. A variety of healthy, REAL food is so much more satisfying than the fake stuff. Moving (aka exercise) becomes a natural part of my entire day.

What are some quick exercises that you would recommend for the busy entrepreneur?

Good news! Studies now show that it is beneficial to spread our fitness efforts throughout the day. Incorporating 10-minute bursts of aerobic activity three times during our day is as valuable as engaging in a straight 30-minute workout. In fact, as the benefits of exercise begin to wane a few hours after an activity, our bodies can receive another boost of endorphins, increased metabolism etc. when we have another burst of activity. Be careful not to make the mistake of exercising for an hour but then spending the remainder of the day stationary.

I love using a pedometer because it changes the choices that I make throughout my day—stairs v. elevator, bowling v. the movies, edge of the parking lot v. circling around for a closer spot, participate v. observe. I don’t make my kids run my little errands for me. I dance around during the fun songs of a rented video. I go exploring. Instead of trying to get away with the least amount of effort, I’m looking for excuses to move!

A good goal to aim for is 10,000 steps every day.

So choose some form of recreation to enjoy each day. The best exercise is the one you love to do (because you’re more likely to do it) but don’t forget to mix it up. Muscle confusion is key to keeping your mind and body young!

If you are looking for something new, try rebounding. A rebounder is a high-quality mini trampoline (don’t skimp on quality here!) Bouncing is so much fun—you’ll feel like a kid again—and has been proven to be 68% more effective than jogging, as noted by NASA in a study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology. Rebounding applies weight and movement to every cell, which gives this form of exercise some very unique advantages and incredible benefits.

Our goal is to incorporate a lifestyle of activity we can maintain lifelong, not create a cycle of deciding to exercise, pushing ourselves so hard we burn out, avoiding that dreaded “e” word altogether, then guilting ourselves back into repeating the cycle again. Choose to enjoy being active every day for life!

	What about strength training?

Shhh! Here’s the secret most efficient and effective way to build strength and tone muscles:

Always take 20 seconds to complete each repetition of any muscle training exercise.

Take a full 10 seconds when performing the resistance movement, and another 10 resisting seconds as you return to starting position. For example, if I were to do a squat using this formula, I would very slowly bend my knees while raising my arms in front of me, timing my bend so that I reached the maximum bent position right at the count of “ten”. I hold at the point of maximum tension, my arms parallel to the ground. I would then begin counting to ten again as I very slowly extended my knees and lowered my arms, timing my ascent so as to not reach the starting position until count “ten.”

Strength training using the 20-second formula is effective because each repetition works through the entire muscle. Because there is zero momentum involved, each muscle fiber within the muscle being used is forced to work.

Each day choose 3 or 4 different strength-training exercises such as leg lifts, push-ups and bicep curls. Repeat each exercise just four times using the 20-second formula. In only five minutes a day, you will get results! (If after four 20-second repetitions of a given exercise the working muscles are not feeling fatigued, it is time to add some weights. If you can’t complete four reps for the full 20 seconds, decrease the amount of weight you are using.) Once you personalize the right weight of each exercise for you, experts say four repetitions is the point of diminishing returns.

Is five minutes of strength training each day really enough to make a difference?

One of my all-time favorite quotes is, “Consistency of effort is more important than amount of effort.” It is way more important (and more effective!) to get in a little bit of concentrated, deliberate resistance training every day than to swing through dozens and dozens of repetitions occasionally.

How would you suggest someone de-stress their minds and bodies during the day?

	1 – STRETCH

It is so important to lengthen our bodies each day. Right now: stand up, take a deep breath, and exhale as you stretch your arms above your head. Now take another breath and while you exhale put your hands behind your head, opening your elbow as wide as they’ll go. Finally, with one last exhale, clasp your hands together behind your back pulling down and out, straightening your arms and lifting your chest. Hold this position (but not your breath!) while slowly tilting your left ear to your left shoulder, your chin to your chest, and then your right ear to your right shoulder. Release. Doesn’t that feel good!?! Your posture is now in correct alignment and you have just given yourself a natural, caffeine-free energy boost!

Stretching improves circulation, posture and mood, lowers blood pressure and improves artery function. Stretching induces relaxation and relieves stress. This in turn aides digestion, reduces inflammation, alleviates chronic pain, and boosts our immune system—in short, a healthier you. It does not have to involve a huge time commitment, but stretching on a consistent basis can give us huge results. From achieving that long, lean look to better organ functionality to off-setting compression caused by daily living, a few minutes spent stretching each day is a wise investment in our overall health.

	2 – BREATHE

The thing to remember about proper breathing is that it begins with a full exhalation. You can’t inhale fully until you empty your lungs completely. It is also important to breathe in through your nose. Your nose is designed to filter and warm the air as it enters your body.

Deep breathing exercise: Sit in a comfortable position with your hands on your knees. Relax your shoulders. On your next exhalation, breathe out slowly—but with power—through your nose, counting to five. Do this by engaging your lower abdominal muscles, drawing in your belly button towards your spine to help your lungs fully deflate. At the bottom of your breath, pause for two counts, then inhale slowly to the count of five. Fill your lower lungs first, then mid-lungs and your upper lungs last. Now close your eyes and repeat 5–10 times. Think of your abdominals as the pump and your breath as the power. You may feel light headed at first after your deep breathing sessions until your body becomes accustom to the extra oxygen it has probably just learned to cope without over the years.

If you find that your mind wanders during this exercise, just refocus on your counting. As your awareness of your breath, your lung capacity, and strength of your breathing muscles increase, you’ll find that deep breathing becomes easier to do and you’ll be getting more out of i

Breathing is simple—wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you are breathing! The trick is to become aware of how well we are using one of the most important tools in our life. Make deep breathing a healthy habit whenever you think of it – sitting at the computer, standing in line at the grocery store, sitting in traffic. Just focusing our attention on breathing tends to make it slower and deeper. Try to aim for 10 breaths per minute, which is thought to help lower blood pressure, lift your mood, and keep you performing at your best.

	3 – SLEEP

Often, we push a good night’s sleep aside to attend to more “pressing needs” when in actuality sleep deprivation makes us less productive. Additionally, lack of sleep invites sickness and injury, which also decreases productivity.

Short-term, sleep deprivation produces unpleasant side effects. Inadequate sleep for even a few nights dulls the brain, lowers energy levels, increases irritability and depression, and makes people more accident-prone. In the long-term, sleep deprivation contributes to cellular malfunction and disease. Even if you feel you are able to function well on minimal sleep, long-term damage is still accruing, the aging process is accelerated, and you are probably not achieving your optimal potential.

What does a healthy lifestyle actually entail?

Your health really begins with what you put into your body, and that includes your mind. True health is not just the absence of disease; it is empowering our bodies to perform at their optimal level.

Our body is composed entirely of cells. All tissues, bones, organs are made up of cells. Therefore, our bodies are only as healthy as the health of its individual cells. In other words, there is really only one disease: cellular malfunction. We give diseases different names depending on which cells are malfunctioning, but basically when those cells are functioning normally, disease cannot happen.

Cells will malfunction for two reasons: 1) a lack of nutrients—the building blocks for our cells to repair, regenerate & function properly or 2) too many toxins—that enter and accumulate and eventually disable the cells. Our bodies are brilliantly made, fully equipped to detox normal amounts of toxins. We just need to do our part by eliminating excess sources of toxins and making sure we balance the inevitable toxins with antioxidants in order to assist the body to do what it is meant to do.

Illness & disease is often thought to be caused by germs or genes. But bacteria, viruses, allergens are always present and do not affect healthy cells. Genetics can make certain diseases a possibility; however, the way we take care of our cells will determine if that potential weak link materializes.

Do you recommend supplements in addition to eating a healthy balanced meal?

Absolutely! A USDA survey of 16,000 Americans found not one person obtained 100 percent of essential nutrients such as magnesium, vitamin E, and zinc. Children and adolescents also did not obtain enough essential nutrients such as folate, vitamin C, and calcium.

An optimal 400 IU/day of the right type of vitamin E is shown to reduce heart attack deaths by 77%. In order to get that amount, we would need to eat nearly 14 cups of wheat germ, 7 ½ cups of almonds, 72 ½ cups of spinach, or 3 ½ cups of safflower oil every day. And that’s just for vitamin E.

Simply put, we don’t have the calories allotted to us each day to get the amount of nutrients needed for optimal health.

So why didn’t our ancestors need supplements?

There are two major reasons supplementation has become necessary. First, our modern world has become much more toxic, increasing our need to compensate with antioxidants. Second, our modern food supply has become depleted of the nutrients it once contained (we don’t rotate crop fields like we used to, we pick produce prematurely, we use synthetic fertilizers and chemicals, etc.)

For example, a recent study showed that we would need to eat EIGHT of the oranges available to us today in order to get the same amount of vitamin A found in ONE orange available during the early 1900’s. Again, we are just not allotted enough calories each day to obtain the levels of nutrients our bodies need to function optimally.

In another study, a team of scientists from Kansas & Texas used data from the USDA’s archives to compare the nutrient content of 43 fruits & vegetables grown in 1950 to those grown in 1999. They found that not a single nutrient had increased in the past 50 years. In fact most had decreased, with drops in the double digits.

Have you done a lot of research on supplements?

What did you use to do your research and what are your recommendations on supplements?

Once I understood the importance of supplementation, the next question was, are all supplements the same? SO I began diligently researching different vitamins. My investigation led me to Nutrisearch’s Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements. This independent reference book uses the recommendations of 12 nutritional authorities to create a blended standard of 18 criteria (such as completeness, purity, potency, and bioavailability) and then scientifically evaluates 1,612 supplements against these. It is currently in its fourth edition and available in most major bookstores.

Out of hundreds and hundreds of companies, only four manufacturers were awarded its Gold Medal of Achievement: Creating Wellness Alliance, Douglas Laboratories, TrueStar Health, and USANA Health Sciences. These four companies are considered the best of the best. I chose to take and represent USANA Health Sciences.

How much fluid intake do you recommend a person take on a daily basis?

Water is absolutely CRUCIAL to all aspects of our health and wellness, including our skin, joints, brain, energy, focus, weight, body temperature and reducing risk of disease and infection.

So many people live in a mildly dehydrated state with various irritating symptoms and never realize it.

A simple calculation to determine your personal daily water goal is to take your body weight (in pounds) and divide that number by two. That’s roughly how many ounces your body needs every day. For example, if I weighed 160 lbs, I would need to drink 80 oz. or 10 cups of water each day. Please note, though, that this calculation (weight/2 = ounces) doesn’t factor in variables such as exercise, illness, or dry climates, all of which will increase your water intake needs. The calculation is your minimum.

However, even more important than the quantity of your water intake is the quality of the water you intake! If the water you are drinking is toxic, you really shouldn’t be drinking more of it!

One major problem with water straight from the tap is the amount of chlorine used to purify it. Chlorine is the cheapest, not best, way to sanitize water. Also, in many states fluoride (essentially just harmful industrial waste) is added to culinary water. Viruses, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products show up in tap water as well.

About ¼ of bottled water is just reprocessed tap water from cities around the country. Dasani and Aquafina are two of such brands. Bottled water is regulated by the FDA while tap water is regulated by the EPA, which has more stringent standards. In fact, bottled water can contain fecal bacteria and still be legally sold.

Filtered tap water is your best bet.

Everyone on twitter wants to be followed, especially those of us offering a product or service. More specifically, we all want to have a lot of followers.

After all, the more followers we have, the wider our content reaches. Looking at the numbers it’s clear to see that more people use Facebook. Facebook has more than 800 million active users.

That’s an impressive statistic, but if you dig a little deeper, the findings paint a different picture of the average Facebook user compared to the average twitter user. While twitter only has over 100 million users, 25% of them follow a brand. Of those followers, 67% will purchase that specific brand. Compared to Facebook, only 51% will purchase from a brand they follow. In addition, 60% of twitter uses following a brand are more likely to make a recommendation to their friend.

Furthermore, social network users can be broken down using income groups. Users that make more than $500,000 annually are considered super affluent. Of this group, 36%follow a brand. Now, this isn’t to lessen the importance of Facebook. The key points should reinforce the importance of twitter and get you motivated to generate more income with more followers.

Yesterday, my husband and I took our three boys to the Spaghetti Factory for dinner.

Throughout dinner I had noticed these three older women sitting at the table next to me.

They seemed so happy with each others company.

My heart was burdened as I watched my family eat.

You see several months ago, my husband had made a personal choice that had really affected our little family. My oldest son who is 12, was so hurt by his dad's choice he became angry and punched a wall. Guess what, he broke his hand in two places and is now wearing a cast!

I will never forget the moment that came next and how a light bulb switched on in my head. You see, one of those sweet little old ladies came up to me and gave me a hug out of the blue. Here is what she said to me; "Honey, I just want to let you know that if you have courage, it will all be okay. I have been there and it will all work out." She then proceeded to ask about my older son's cast and then went over to my other son and gave him a big hug and told him he was a good boy. Then she left with her two friends.

I sat there and thought all the time i had been observing her and her friends, she had been watching and studying me. She instinctively knew how we were feeling without even talking to us. She just observed the behavior of our family and our interaction with one another. And she said the perfect thing to me at just the right time.

She was my Christmas Angel. She gave me a precious gift .

An aha moment that I will never forget.

I realized then and there…that she taught me how to learn about who our ideal client REALLY is. We have to observe them, hang out where they hang out, study them, and we need to learn to speak their language. When we do these things, we will be able to really understand who they are and speak directly to them. We will "get" them and they our ideal customers will KNOW we understand them. This is attraction marketing in its finest form.

You Understand Your Ideal Client…Now What?

You speak to your ideal client through your copywriting and social media engagement. Why? Because you understand who they are, how they are feeling, and what they need. My friends, now you will be able to offer the perfect solution, which is your product or service to them.

So where does your ideal client hang out?

Right in front of you! You can find your ideal client anywhere online or in your local area. ; Let me give you an example. Your ideal client is young mothers, who just had children, and you are marketing a weight loss product to them. You can go to any online forum, facebook group, twitter chat, or local park and observe their behaviour and listen to them engage with their peers.

During the course of your research you find out that they really want to lose weight. Why? That is the critical question. The answer is simple because they want to feel sexy again. It has nothing to do with YOUR weight loss product or what its features are. It is all about what it can do for them.

Can it make them feel sexy and look great again in those jeans hidden in the very back of their closet. You bet!

So your copywriting and engagement should be focus on the benefits or outcome of what your weight loss product will do for them.

They will fit back into those pre-pregancy jeans.

They will look sexy.

They will feel alive again and look great for their man.

Now, you will have more customers than you can ever began to imagine.

So my friends, determine who your ideal client is, research their challenges, determine their why, and offer the benefits!

	Watch your business soar!

I would love to hear your comments or questions about connecting with your ideal client. Please post them below.

	With love,
